Teréga: sponsor of the Lycée Polyvalent d’Artagnan in Nogaro

In a time of energy transition and initiatives to encourage the emergence of new energy sources, Teréga goes that bit further. The gas operator, based in South West France, is investing in high school students, the true future generation. To encourage more professional vocations, Teréga is financing training in hydrogen technologies for 12 teachers at the Lycée Polyvalent d’Artagnan in Nogaro.

Training the teaching profession in future technologies

This training is for 12 teachers across 3 different streams of the professional baccalaureate (automotive engineering, industrial equipment maintenance, and electricity), as well as the local complementary training initiative (FCIL) for motor racing mechanics. The 3-day introductory course, scheduled to run from 30 March to 1st April 2022, will cover hydrogen technologies, risk prevention, and hydrogen systems maintenance operations.

Eveer’Hy’Pôle, a semi-public Company based in Albi, and a stakeholder in the Hydrogen sector in Occitanie, will deliver the training. As part of the initiative, students and teachers will be invited to visit Teréga’s storage centre in Lussagnet. An additional way of illustrating the challenges of training for jobs associated with gas infrastructures

Dominique Mockly, Chairman and General Manager of Teréga

We’re delighted to be able to raise awareness among teachers of hydrogen-related jobs and industries. This energy of the future is a key asset in the energy transition in which we want to play our part. Today’s high school students are tomorrow’s workforce, so it’s absolutely essential we should introduce them to the work we do once they enter secondary schools. That’s why we think it’s important to support training for teachers in this area.
